AVP Legal Counsel, Unum

Lane Crowder has over 23 years of practicing law, both as a labor and employment lawyer at two private law firms and as a law clerk to a United States District Court judge and a United States Bankruptcy Court judge. She has focused much of her career defending employers against claims of discrimination and retaliation under the FMLA, ADA, Title VII, ADEA and state discrimination laws. Lane also has experience defending employers against wage and hour claims under the FLSA. In addition to her prior litigation practice, she has experience advising employers on compliance with state and federal employment laws and has conducted investigations regarding harassment and discrimination issues, and she has drafted policies for employers to comply with employment laws. At Unum, Lane is working with the employment law team to provide guidance on employment issues, including all state and federal leave laws, both internally and externally.

Ian Bateman is a Director in Product and Market Development. He’s been with Unum for six years and has a background in marketing, field development and underwriting. His current role encompasses the evaluation, development and implementation of equivalent statutory plans in collaboration with key resources including legal and benefit partners.

Kelsy Holliday-Schiavon

Director, Expanded Solutions, Unum

Kelsy Holliday-Schiavon is a Director in the Expanded Services department at Unum. She has 13 years of experience in disability management and leave of absence with a particular focus on corporate and statutory paid leave. She has worked with many Unum integrated products, including LTD, STD, Leave, ADA and Paid Leave programs. One of the responsibilities of her current role includes leading a team to plan for and implement Unum statutory paid leave offerings.
