HR teams are usually swamped during enrollment season, making it tough to handle extra tasks. But for Delve, integrating and rolling out Unum Behavioral Health was a breeze, even during the most hectic times.
“Implementing Unum Behavioral Health was incredibly straightforward,” reports Niemi when reflecting on her first enrollment season with the solution. “Despite the busy open enrollment period, the rollout was so seamless that I didn’t even notice it was an extra task.”
Previously, Delve struggled to provide accessible mental health resources to its employees. “We needed a user-friendly solution available across different locations and devices,” Niemi explained. “With Unum, our employees can tap into the platform from the workplace, home or on their phones, making it a versatile tool in their wellness journey.”
The platform’s extensive coverage includes employees and their family members. “Many employees have expressed their appreciation for the benefit and are glad we offer it,” added Niemi.
Niemi highlighted the versatility of Unum’s program when noting, “People can sign on and be directed to something as simple as a self-guided process all the way up to an eight-week coaching program or a 12-week treatment path.”
The flexibility of the program allows individuals to lengthen or change their treatment program to best suit their unique needs, ensuring that each employee receives the appropriate level of care for their situation. Allie added, “If someone starts in an eight-week treatment program and needs more support, they can request to extend it.”
“The quality of care that we get from Unum is just light years ahead of what we've had in the past.”
Unum Behavioral Health has transformed the workplace into a more engaged and supportive environment, empowering employees to proactively take charge of their mental health. Prior to Unum, employee utilization was very low with a different employee assistance program.
“We’ve seen a dramatic decrease in mental health claims, indicating a strong correlation between the Unum program and improved mental health,” commented Niemi, underscoring the positive impact of the program on overall employee wellbeing.
“Overall, I really love that with Unum Behavioral Health, employees and their families can also use the platform, and everybody's portals are completely confidential,” Niemi emphasized.
Her reflection spoke to confidentiality being crucial for building trust and encouraging more employees and their families to utilize the mental health resources available to them.
